BG95M5 module bricked by downloading M6 firmware to it

I an using a BG95M5 module and mistakenly used an OpenQuec SDK for BG95M6 and downloaded it using QFirehose into a BG95M5LATEA-64-SGNS module for my EVB. This caused the chip to stop booting and will not show the green status at start.

I then got Quectel marketing to send me the SDK image for M5 BG95M5LAR02A05_01.001.01.001 and have attempted multiple times to download it but to no success at restoring any operation.

I have to use the QDL mode by shorting USB_BOOT and 1V8 on the J805 header. this is the only way that the EVB will show a USB device to my linux system and QFirehose confirms the package and does act like it does the entire download. Alas when it gets to the final power reset step, it can’t complete despite saying Upgrade module successfully.

Is there anyway I can get the module I have back to working state?

If download M5 version not success then the only way is that you have to buy a new module or return to repair.

Thanks for the reply. Before I give up on that module, I was wondering where i can find the latest production update for BG95M5. All I currently have is the Open Quec SDK for it and I’d like to make sure that loading something closer to what it had might fix it.

Could you please tell me the actual version of this moudle?

The module itself has a model number of BG95M5LATEA-64-SGNS. The chip on the module is labeled
