We using many year BG96 with USB connection. But now we decided o use BG95 just with direct UART connection. Connection is working on /dev/ttyAMA0 correctly. I can use minicom for communication. But would like to use standard wvdial and pppd that was working with bg96 many years in many modules. But now I have problem - wvdial started normally , all command passing correctly, but when it should connect start pppd and it should connect to to serial port - pppd is just freezed:

Is it necessary to use wvdial? I think you can use only pppd with chatscripts.
Anyway, you are using /dev/ttyAMA0, Are you using a Raspberry PI with the module BG96?
I’m using Raspberry PI and BG95 with just UART cable connection.
Okay, then you should disable the debug UART, since it’s the one you’re using to communicate with the BG95 communication module.
Solved. PPPD with UART control signals DTS and CTS and with just 2 wires UART lines freeze. Necessary to use parameter “nocrtscts” and PPPD start to work normally.
