I am trying to get the eSIM running on a BG95-M3 module, but it seems the documentation is scarce on how to get it working.
I found the following guide https://forums.quectel.com/uploads/short-url/aCFNp1v9fRZtWU9mucGbJy3N0rq.pdf , although I don’t see the BG95 mentioned in there.
On my device, I don’t have a physical SIM fitted. If I run
AT+QCFG=“sim/onchip”
It responds with +QCFG: “sim/onchip”,0
0 Meaning chip sim disabled.
Then
AT+QCFG=“sim/onchip”,1
OK
+QSIMSTAT: 1,1
+CPIN: READY
+QUSIM: 1
AT+QCFG=“sim/onchip”
+QCFG: “sim/onchip”,1
OK
So it activates the SIM from what I can see. But AT+CCID/AT+QCCID gives an error, it seems like this is expected as no eSIM is loaded so fair enough.
(now trying to follow guide)
It seems like it is expected for AT+QESIM to return something, however I get ERROR
I think I need to run AT+QESIM=“add_profile”
Elsewhere I found I need to run a command similar to
AT+QESIM=“URL”, “1234567890” (I have a correct url and number for an eSIM) but this also gives an error.
I believe I am running the correct firmware for this modem, an help?
