I have a few units where the AT+QLTS=2 doesn’t return any time information. I assume they are in a region where the network operator doesn’t have NITZ implemented.
Is there any way to get the timezone automatically?
Could I get the module rtc synced to an NTP server and is there a way to set the timezone in that case.
Units need to reset at midnight so timezone is relevant
Hi,
most units we have, have no problem with the QLTS command,
for command:
AT+QLTS=2
I get:
+QLTS: “2024/11/08,09:30:14+00,1”
OK
in some regions however the log shows:
for command:
AT+QLTS=2
The only response from the module is:
OK
sadly I don’t have a firmware rev for the BG95s, what I do see is that this is region specific. The QLTS=2 command is sent after sending data to our server.
CTZU command is not used by our firmware, default should be Enable automatic time zone update via NITZ.
I can request CCLK as well, will involve some firmware dev and update (previously that’s what I’ve used but QLTS makes it easy to just get the local time without having to do any magic, cclk reports timezone separately)
Kind regards,
Lorand
AT+QLTS=2 can only return if the network has been registered, otherwise it will only return an OK. In the situation you mentioned, It might be that some Cells in some areas cannot return TimeZone and time.
