BG77 Power Efficiency Curve vs Supply Voltage

Hello Quectel Team and Community,

I’m designing a power management system for the BG77 module and would like to optimize the overall system efficiency. My input voltage ranges from 2V to 3.6V, so I plan to use a buck/boost converter (TPS631010) that can provide a stable output voltage anywhere from 1.8V to 4.7V to power the BG77.

While the BG77 hardware reference manual specifies a typical supply voltage of 3.3V, I want to find the optimal supply voltage that maximizes the BG77’s power efficiency. Since I’m using a switching converter anyway, I can easily adjust the output voltage to whatever works best for the module.

Does Quectel have characterization data showing the BG77’s power efficiency or current consumption versus supply voltage across the operating range? I’m looking for either a chart showing efficiency curves at different voltages, or simply the specific voltage where the BG77 operates most efficiently. This would help me optimize the combined efficiency of my converter and the BG77 module, rather than just defaulting to the typical 3.3V.

Has anyone in the community done similar analysis or can Quectel provide this data?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

The operating voltage of the module is 2.6V~4.8V, with a typical value of 3.3V. It is recommended to use 3.3V as the default operating voltage.
