" AT+CSCA" Neccesary for SMS, CMS ERROR 530

I’m Using EC200U for SMS service, sometimes while sending SMS I’m getting CMS ERROR 530 or CMS ERROR sms send error.

So this is due to AT+CSCA command, Because in other modem or mobile phone the same SIM is working fine…or any command need to send for SMS service initialisation

Hi,@mohd
Could you give the detailed process of sending short messages using AT commands? The following is the detailed explanation of the CSCA command. Hope it will be helpful to you.

my question is, Is it mandatory to set service center address “AT+CSCA” before sending SMS?
and if it is not set does it give CMS ERROR 530 ?

here is my AT command sequence to send SMS
“AT+CMGF = 1”
“AT+CMGS="+919014323475"”

HELLO 0x1A

Hi,@mohd
If the short message service center number is set incorrectly, the short message service cannot be used. Generally, the short message service center number should not be modified.

Hi @leon.bao Thansk for your reply…
In India we have different state, and each state region have different SMS service center number, So if I travel from one state to another state DO I NEED TO CHANGE SMS service center number ?

Hi,@mohd
There will be different situations. Operators may have a nationwide unified SMSC. For some modules, there will also be a function to automatically update the SMSC. In these cases, modification is usually not required. It is recommended to use the AT+CSCA? command to check whether the current SMSC is correct or not.

Hi @leon.bao ,
Does EC-200U CN Module (Revision : EC200U-CNAAR03A03M08) has function to automatically update SMSC ? and my operator is Airtel

Hi,@mohd
Sorry,I haven’t tried it. Maybe you can give it a try by yourself.
