Antenna Tuner Control Interfaces on EG800K-EU

Dear Quectel Support Team,

According to the EG800K-EU datasheet, both EG800K-EU and EG800K-LA modules support antenna tuner control interfaces.

The document states:

“EG800K-EU and EG800K-LA support antenna tuner control interfaces, and if the interfaces are required, please contact Quectel Technical Support.”

I am currently working on a project that requires the use of these interfaces, and I would appreciate more detailed technical information:

  • Which pins are available for antenna tuner control?
  • Are there specific AT commands or configuration registers to manage the tuner?
  • Is special firmware or an activation process required to enable these interfaces?

We don’t have an AT command to control it, it switches automatically.

I have a few follow-up questions:

  1. In the image you provided, it is unfortunately not clear which specific pins are used for antenna tuner control. Could you please clarify the exact pin numbers or provide a detailed reference from the hardware documentation?
  2. I am currently using the following firmware version on the EG800K-EU:
    3.EG800KEULCR07A05M04_01.001.01.001*
  3. The document I have is:
    5.Quectel_EC800K&EG800K_Series_Hardware_Design_V1.1*
    Do you have a more recent version available, possibly as a PDF?
  4. Since there are no AT commands available to control the antenna tuner manually, could you please advise how I can detect or test when and how the tuner is switching automatically?
    For example:
  • Is there a specific condition (e.g., frequency band, signal level, SAR trigger) that causes the tuner to activate or change state?
  • Are there any test points or GPIO signals that indicate tuner status?
